IN LOVE WITH (FR)

French drummer Sylvain Darrifourcq is a prodigious original whose repertoire has all the spiky, crackling energy of improv, but which balances spontaneity with very tight organization” John Fordham, The Guardian

Virtuoso and creative french drummer Sylvain Darrifourcq leads this minimalist-brutal jazz trio through abstracted, brain-meltingly virtuosic compositions that come off like mashups of Webern, Satie, Mr. Bungle, and beautifully textured chamber jazz.

In Love With, will be the desire shapes somewhere jailed in a straight implacably geometry. It’s epileptic, it’s fleeting, it’s jerky, it’s rough but it might also be still and apathetic. It’s the violence of the straight line.
